ARTIST STATEMENT

I believe that art has the power to inspire, change and foster connection. Each piece is a journey, not just for me as the creator, but for everyone who interacts with it.

My intention is to create work that is accessible to all, art that feels personal yet universal, modern yet timeless.

ABOUT ME

Based in the picturesque region of Devon in southern England, I create all my work from my home studio. My passion lies in landscape and contemporary art, and I work with a variety of mediums including inks, acrylics, digital, and mixed media.

I collaborate with interior designers and art consultancies around the world, and my pieces are often utilised by home staging professionals as well as in TV and film set design. My artistic journey began at a young age, inspired by my grandfather, and I have always loved to experiment with paint and pencil.

Living in Devon, surrounded by stunning scenery and coastal landscapes, I constantly find fresh inspiration. I strive to work with minimal resources, embracing simplicity in my creative process.

Commercial Licensing

Most of my work is available for commercial licensing. Please contact me via the contact page for more information.

My artwork is available for purchase globally, and you can find my pieces in various online shops, see below:

In conversation with... Dan Hobday

When Earth's Last Picture Is Painted

When Earth’s last picture is painted and the tubes are twisted and dried,
When the oldest colours have faded, and the youngest critic has died,
We shall rest, and faith, we shall need it – lie down for an aeon or two,
Till the Master of All Good Workmen Shall put us to work anew.

And those that were good shall be happy: they shall sit in a golden chair;
They shall splash at a ten-league canvas with brushes of comet’s hair.
They shall find real saints to draw from – Magdalene, Peter, and Paul;
They shall work for an age at a sitting and never be tired at all!

And only the Master shall praise us, and only the Master shall blame;
And no one will work for the money, and no one will work for the fame,
But each for the joy of the working, and each, in his separate star,
Shall draw the Thing as he sees It for the God of Things as They are!

Rudyard Kipling

"Perfection is the enemy of expression, art lives in the bold, not the flawless."
